Spent yesterday afternoon in the woods with 4 people who had an average age of 27.75 years. One of those people was a 9 month old baby though so if I remove him from the sample group the three of us remaining had an average age of 37. I laugh kind of when I think about that but not because it's funny but because it's amazing. If you had told me when I was 5 years old that at the age of 37 I would still be digging in the dirt in the woods with some of the same people I grew up with I would have been stoked. After Erin and his son left Adam and I dug and rode till the daylight gave way to the darkness and the birds stopped chirping for the day. All was good until we realized we were halfway up on a mountain in the pitch black with no light. Luckily I found my trusty Petzel in my camera bag and we limped out in the dark, bikes grasped tightly in one hand, beers in the other and big smiles on our faces.
