What sparked your interest in biking when you were young? >  Well, I started riding a bike like every kid when i was really young, and i just got really into it and have always been riding a bike.

When did you really get into biking, and what form of biking was it? >  I think in about grade 7 i decided i wanted to try and become a pro, and I’ve been riding my heart out ever since!

Dirt Jumps or Downhill? Which is your favorite, and why? >  Thats a really tough choice since i have some of the best trails in the world in my back yard of the North Shore. I love both, but i guess dirt jumps due to how much easier it is because you don’t need a truck to shuttle, and you can have sick sessions with your friends.

Have you had any serious injuries while riding or competing? How long did it take you to get back on the saddle? >  Knock on wood, but I haven’t really had any serious injuries from riding. Just sprained ankles, and big bruises/cuts.

Who are your favorite Riders? >  I have always looked up to the godfather Wade Simmons. He has had the most style and flow forever! My friends that i ride and compete against are probably my favourite people to ride with otherwise. We have wicked riding sessions, and we push each other to our limits. Plus we can all party pretty hard too!

What events do you plan on attending or competing in this coming season? >  I have a full schedule planned for 2010 which include all of the major slopestyles in North America, and hopefully an event or two in Europe…Goatstyle, Colorado Crankworx, Crankworx, Teva Mountain Games, Claymour Challenge, Jordie Lunn’s Jam…just to name a few.

What are the greatest Podiums you have won thus far in your “career”? >  This year i won my first major event which was Goatstyle. It was the best feeling of my life! I was so stoked, and couldn’t believe it. Also grabbing 3rd on the podium at Jordie Lunn’s “Fresh Air” was wicked!

Is racing more mental or physical for you? Why? >  I would have to say mental. It is all about line choice and trusting your bike when trying to pin it in my opinion.

Do any other sports influence your biking or style? >  BMX

What is you big goal for this season? >  My goal is to place better at competitions and not let my nerves get to me. Hopefully I can get up onto the podium more often!

What do you do to occupy your time when you’re not on the bike? >  When im not on my mountain bike, you can find me on my BMX, painting, skimmboarding, skiing, or most often with a shovel in my hands at the jumps.

If you were to give one piece of advice to up-coming riders, what would it be? >  Ride your heart out, and do it because you love it. Train hard but don’t make it feel like training, cuz thats no fun!

Everybody has a dream, what is yours? >  My dream is to be able to live off riding comfortably, and then when I can’t do that anymore, I’ll hopefully work for a company that i rode for.
