Favorite trail? Todd’s Trail

Favorite riding destination? Here at home...  Every time I go somewhere else, I’m always happy to be home and shred some of the sickest trails ever.

Sponsors/supporters? Kona Bike co, DropNZone Bike Works, Robia Gear, Fit Adventure, Dumonde Tech Racing Oils, Prospect Street Café, Disidual Clothing, Shuttle Nuts Rack Systems, and my dad George Mullen (Thanks for all your support dad!).

As a kid, what was your dream job? Conductor of a train.

What riders inspire you? Aaron Gwin.  That dude not only kills it on the track, but Gwin is the first American male to ever win a World Cup Overall Title!  His training and determination motivates me to try and push myself to the next level.

Favorite place to compete? Ski Bowl in Mount Hood, Oregon.  Super gnarly track with a little bit of everything, from rocky tech sections to springing fire roads.  I’ve been racing there since I was 14 and always have been really stoked on the track.

How did you get involved in biking? When I was 11, all my buddies started to get XC bikes with front suspension.  I soon got one myself.  We would go huck off sketchy rock drops and wood work that we would build, seeing who could do the biggest drop.  Eventually I snapped my frame and got a Stinky dee.  I continued to stay with the sport ever since.

When did you get serious about biking and what form was it?  When I was 14 and I wanted to start racing downhill after seeing some old Earthed movies.

What is the most serious injury you have experienced while riding or competing? How long did it take you to get back on the saddle?  I received a compound fracture to my tibia and fibula while racing in Granby, Colorado at the USA Cycling National Championship.  Went off a double on course, 50/50 cased it and erupted.  Next thing I know, I’m in the ambulance about to be sent to Denver for surgery.  My total recovery time was about 8 weeks.

What events do you plan on attending or competing in this coming season?
NW Cup, B.C. Cup, USA Nationals, and as many PRO GRT’s I can attend.

What are the greatest Podiums you have won thus far in your "career"?
1st NW Cup Overall (Cat 1 0-18)
1st Fluidride Cup Overall (Cat 1 0-18)
3rd NW Cup Overall (PRO Mens)

Do any other hobbies influence your biking or riding style? Training with my personal trainer Tonia Boze of Fit Adventure has helped me focus more clearly during the season as well as being built better for racing.

What is your most ambitious goal for the season? To stay injury free!!!

What occupies your time when you're off the bike? Training with my personal trainer Tonia Boze of Fit Adventure, mowing lawns and chillin with my friends and family.

What is the best or funniest memory from your cycling career? The best memory would be winning the NW Cup and the Fluidride series in the Cat1-(0-18) class.  Super stoked with that accomplishment.

What is the worst gaper story you have experienced? My first time to Whistler, I wasn’t to familiar to the lift rack so when I put my bike on the back wheel started to fall off the rack and they had to stop the lift. haha

What is your greatest fear associated with biking?
The starting gate, it never gets any easier.

Does riding professionally take some of the fun out of biking?
No, I have a lot more fun racing against guys that are faster than I am.  It pushes me to improve on my riding technique.

How does creativity play a role in your riding style?  I’m always visualizing tracks in my head trying to figure out the fastest line, sections where I should be sprinting, where I should be pulling a tear off, and so on.
