Freehub Volume 7.2 - Now on Newsstands

Summer always flies by. It’s the combination of the long, sunny days, the warm temperatures and the always-active mindset.

Here at Freehub, the defining mark of these summer months is the Progression Issue, 114 pages filled with the people and places that are progressing our sport in every way imaginable.

From the community of Sun Valley, ID’s unparalleled access and unrivaled bike culture to the unsung heroes of the Whistler Valley who have been building iconic trails for decades. Or people like Jill Kintner, a rider singlehandedly progressing the sport by simply pushing herself, Dave Weagle, an engineer who has literally changed the way we all ride with suspension design and Matthew DeLorme, a photographer documenting progression first-hand while continually pushing his own abilities and searching for new experiences.

On page one is a man who has certainly had a huge impact on our sport, not only on World Cup courses, but by his humble, small-town attitude. Inside the issue is a tribute to the late Stevie Smith, written by long-time friend Darren Berrecloth, remembering the good times and learning from loss.

Take a minute to get a glimpse of some of the stories below, and pick up a copy with all of the aforementioned and much, much more, at a shop near you or by subscribing for a full year of mountain bike stoke, in a tangible, timeless, coffee-table style format. We hope these pages will continue to provide inspiration for progression, be it in what ever way you see fit—after all, that’s the best part about our sport: the possibilities are endless.
