North Vancouver's Bill Hawley Joins The 2014 Deep Summer Photo Challenge At Crankworx Whistler. Hawley Will Compete Against Ale DiLullo, Paris Gore, Christoph Laue, Sean St Denis And Toby Cowley As The Pinkbike.com Wildcard Winner

WHISTLER, BC July 16, 2014 – Bill Hawley of North Vancouver, BC, is the final photographer to be added to the lineup of pro photographers storming the stage at Whistler Olympic Plaza August 13, 2014 for the Deep Summer Photo Challenge at Crankworx Whistler. Pinkbike.com fans voted Hawley the winner of the Deep Summer Wildcard contest after five weeks of nominations and thousands of online votes.

"I've entered the Pinkbike Deep Summer Wildcard search for the past three years and every time I’ve competed, I haven't made it in. I have had a concept planned for the past couple of years and am just really glad to have opportunity to finally make it a reality,” says Hawley. “I know that the Deep Summer Photo Challenge is an extremely prestigious event to be a part of and I am so honored to be competing against a group of such talented photographers.”

Photographers will have only three days to shoot anywhere between Squamish and Pemberton, including Whistler and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Hawley will be joining these invited pro photographers:

The Deep Summer Photo Challenge will take place under the stars at the spectacular Whistler Olympic Plaza again in 2014. Priority seating and close sightlines to giant HD screens will be on offer with a number of ticketed seats available for $7, available for purchase through Whistler Blackcomb Guest Relations. The area beyond the ticketed seating will be available for spectators to take in the Deep Summer Photo Challenge free of charge.

The photographers will rally their chosen athlete teams to embark on three days of intense shooting and editing commencing Saturday, August 9. Slideshows will be handed in by the end of the day Tuesday, August 12. Then on Wednesday, August 13, a massive crowd will experience deep summer in Whistler through the lenses of six elite mountain bike photographers with first place taking home $5,000, second place $3,000, and third place $2,000.
