Boa Technology’s Ride That Changed It All Contest Sends Two Winners to the
Leadville Trail 100 MTB Race

APRIL 16, 2014 (Denver, Colo.)—Boa Technology Inc., maker of the patented, award-winning Boa Closure System found on many brands of premium cycling shoes, is launching its second-ever Ride That Changed it All contest celebrating the human spirit to push past overwhelming obstacles to achieve lofty goals. Two lucky winners will receive entry to the sold-out Leadville Trail 100-mile mountain bike race (LT100), an epic, high-altitude race through the mountains surrounding Leadville, Colorado.

For a chance to win, entrants submit a story about why they want to compete in the LT100 at
www.RideThatChangeditAll.com or Facebook.com/BoaClosureSystem during the month of May.

Selecting the winners in this year’s contest is four-time Leadville Trail 100 MTB champion Rebecca Rusch. The contest winners will be announced on June 4th.

Last year’s Ride That Changed It All contest winner,
Nick Park of Bakersfield, California, four years ago weighed 400 pounds and suffered from obesity-related diseases. He was also the primary caretaker for his cancer-stricken wife and their three sons. After having life-saving surgery, he took up mountain biking to help him lose weight and joined a local community of fellow riders to learn the basics of training and bike handling. He soon began competing in mountain bike races and, in 2013, attempted the daunting Leadville Trail 100 MTB ride, a ride that—as he says in this video about his remarkable transformation—marked the start of his new life as a bike rider.

“Our goal here at Boa has always been to make products that truly makes peoples’ lives better, whether that be a pro athlete looking to gain a competitive edge with lighter, faster shoe or an amputee who needs an easily adjustable prosthesis,” says Boa Technology President Mark Soderberg, a two-time national mountain biking masters champion. “The Ride that Changed it All is a chance for us to support peoples’ ambitious dreams to do something they never thought possible. And we partnered with the Leadville Trail 100 MTB race because of its reputation as one of the country’s toughest events that many riders aspire to complete.”

The Ride That Changed it All promotion continues throughout June, during which time the public may go to www.RideThatChangeditAll.com to share photos and stories about their most remarkable racing and riding experiences and find ongoing inspiration to keep training, whether for a race or to achieve fitness goals. All who post will have a chance to win a limited-edition Boa Technology MTB jersey, which will be awarded daily to a randomly selected winner.
